The Los Angeles Rams running backs are some of the best in the National Football League (NFL). They are the only team who have won three NFL Championships that represent various cities – Cleveland (1945), Los Angeles (1951 and 2021), and St. Louis (1999).

- MARSHAL FAULK (1999 – 2006)
With an NCAA record of 386 yards on 37 carries, scoring seven touchdowns. Marshal Faulk was a phenomenal Rams running back. For Aztecs, he scored 5552 yards. He was traded to St. Louis Rams and soon received the “Marshall Law in the Falklands.” The Rams running back piled 11,000 yards of the offense.
Faulk was awarded the title of “the NFL offensive player of the year” in 1999. Similarly, in 2000, he got the title “the most valuable player.” Moreover, Faulk is counted among the greatest all-purpose RB of all time. - ERIC DICKERSON (1983 – 1987)
Apart from 48 touchdowns, Dickerson piled 4,450 yards on 790 carries, which led to breaking the record of Earl Campbell. After joining LA Rams as a Rams running back in 1983, Dickerson made an NFL rookie record by rushing 1,808 yards. However, he didn’t stop there but made another record for most yards in the next season by rushing 2,105 yards.
With 15,396 yards rushing and receiving throughout his career, Eric Dickerson became an inductee of the NFL Hall of Fame in 1999. As a Rams running back, Dickerson rushed for 7,245 yards with 56 touchdowns.
- STEVEN JACKSON (2004 to 2012)
Steven Jackson joined Los Angeles Rams in 2004 as a backup for Marshal Faulk. It is deplorable that the Rams never made it to playoffs for even a single time since he joined them; however, with rushing for 10,000 yards, Jackson became the team leader and became the 27th RB in NFL history to attain 10,000 yards. According to CBS Sports, the Rams running back Cam Akers appears to be unleashing his actual running back skills this season. After recovering from a severely torn Achilles injury, Akers performed astoundingly and earned colossal respect from fans. Prior to winning his first Super Bowl, Akers was already a fan favorite in his two-year career.
With so much potential, CBS sports predicted he could deliver the best performance of all time in his 3rd year of the professional game. He is an “under-the-radar” Rams running back who could take his career to a new level in the 2022-2023 season.
Akers was one of the favorite players in 2021; however, due to injury, he could not fulfill the expectations of his fans. After recovering from injury, he performed exceptionally well and won his first super bowl. Similarly, he is still considered a great running back for LA Rams.
